NSS

National Social Service or known as NSS, was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year, 1969. Basically aimed at developing student’s personality through community service. NSS, is now existing as a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community linkage. The cardinal principle of the NSS is that it is organized by the students themselves, and also both students and teachers through their joint participation in community service, get a sense of involvement in the mammoth tasks of nation building. Now the college has four NSS Units coordinated by four Professors, Ajay Kr. Datta, Smiriti Kanta Barman, Haripada Paul and Joydeep Singh.

1. The College has attracted community participation in the process of physical infrastructure strengthening.
2. Participation of students, faculty and staff in community development & social work by four NSS Units of the College.
3. Adult literacy programme, Health and hygiene awareness program & Health camp organized by NSS units.
4. Activities like Blood donation, tree plantation program etc. by one NSS Units for community development.
5. Environment awareness through NSS.
6. Sensitization programme by the Women’s Cell for creation of awareness among women against exploitation and abuse of any kind.
